The GCSE astronomy group recently visited Jodrell Bank which is the home of the famous Lovell telescope. They explored the various interactive displays which were fantastic and very educational. They were also able to explore the beautiful gardens due to the weather being a lovely sunny day.
They attended 2 workshops; the first was about spectroscopy and how astronomers use it. This workshop was extremely helpful for the students and will provide additional insight for their exams this Summer. The second workshop was truly amazing as the group had a large inflatable planetarium to themselves. Mrs Goddard said “it was very cool as we explored the universe starting with the constellations, we then looked at Messier objects, quasars and pulsars. A magical day for us all”.
