Race for Life 2015

18th March 2015

This year a group of our Year 10 students have organised the Race for Life event at Melior.  Please see below:

"As part of our BTEC Sport course, we are organising and holding a ‘Race For Life’ event on Friday 27th March on our own Astro-Turf facility which is situated at the front of the school at Melior Community Academy.

It will take place throughout the whole day with a different year group with a separate nominated lesson, including all year groups from 7’s to 11’s. All together we are estimating 300 students to take part and raise money for the Cancer Research charity to make a difference!

With the support of staff and the public sponsors we are aiming to raise as much money for the nominated charity as possible.

Our Race for Life will give the students the opportunity to participate at running, skipping, hopping or walking the distance with a fixed time limit of 30 minutes. When completed the students will receive a goody bag including a medal, certificate and other products to show our appreciation of the participation.

On the afternoon of the event we will be having a guest visit from the Rugby player, Rob Vickerman to gain more support."

We would like to wish all participants the best of luck!
