    Year 10's Cultural Studies current hot topic of conversation and unit of study is upon 'Human Rights', where one dedicated individual, Miss Emily Barker, has truly embraced her homework objective and inspired her peers with her original composition of a song that questions and highlights the needs for Human Rights.

    'Let Me Be Your Star'

    Melior students will perform their production of 'Let Me Be Your Star' on three evenings and one afternoon as below.  A little something for everyone to enjoy, the productions will showcase the talent of Melior Students.


    • Wednesday 2nd July 2014 - 7.30pm
    • Thursday 3rd July 2014 - 7.30pm
    • Saturday 5th July 2014  - 2.30pm & 7.30pm


    Tickets are now available to purchase from Mr Lancaster, Mr Ray or Student Services or alternatively they can be purchased via the Academy's website using the Ticket

  • Tata Kids of Steel Triathlon

    6th June 2014

    Students volunteered to take part in the Tata Kids of Steel of Triathlon event which took place at the PODs on Thursday 22nd May.  The students competed in a 50m Swim, 1000m Bike Ride and a 500m Run.

    We would like to congratulate all students who participated in this event.


  • Prom Reminder

    6th June 2014

    The Prom will be held at a surprise venue on Friday 4th July. Bookings will be taken from Monday 12th May until Friday 13th June. No bookings will be taken after this date. The price per ticket is £25. Students can also exchange VIVO points for Prom tickets – the amount of vivo points and their cumulative value can be obtained from Mrs Rotheram on Reception. Students who wish to pay in instalments may do so; please note that all payments have to be completed by Friday 13th June. If your child is wishing to

    For their age, this is a phenomenal  achievement.


    They are:

    Nathaniel Vionnet IQ 152 top 2% of the population, Jared Beasley IQ 152 top 2%, Thomas Parker IQ 151 top 2% , Kyle Driffill 156  top 1% , Mark Love 154 top 2% , Grace Berridge 151 top 2% and Charlotte Cowling 150 top 2%.



    This is a very proud moment for the Academy, the students and their parents.


  • World Cup Week

    3rd June 2014

    World Cup Week commencing Monday 16th June 2014

    Celebrate the World Cup with a week full of exciting dishes from the competing nations: Italy, Australia, England, Algeria and Brazil.

    The promotion will also include a lucky plate competition with a sporty gift to be won each day of the week.  Just find a sticker on the bottom of your plate to win.

    Please see the menu for the week below.  This menu will run alongside the normal weekly menu to accommodate all appetites.

    Cast members for the Summer Production of "Let Me Be Your Star" can collect an order form for ticket orders from Mr Lancaster before they go on sale to the general public.

  • Year 7 Geography Homework

    Year 7 students were set a piece of homework to design a piece of artwork to show the rainforest.  Below are photographs of what they produced (including the cakes topped with entirely edible rainforest animals).

    We thought it would be really nice to share their creativity and hard work.

  • Young Enterprise

    30th April 2014

    Melior students attended the Young Enterprise event for the first time in a couple of years, courtesy of support from North Lincolnshire Homes.  Students said the event was a great experience for them and although they did not qualify as winners, they and Melior are really proud of their achievements. 

    The students who took part were: Charlotte Webb, Brendan Anderson, Ryan Kirton, Izabela Lipinska, Sara Winiewska, Laura Pezzuto and Ciara Jenkins.

    The final figure raised for Sports Relief 2014 was £2115.87.  We would like to say a massive Thank You to all who donated.

    We are very sorry to announce that all available places on the New York Trip have now been filled. If you would like your child to be placed on the Reserve List please send in the confirmation slip only. If any places become available you will be contacted immediately.

  • Charitable Donations

    In the Autumn term pupils donated 2860 VIVOs split between Help for Heroes and Teenage Cancer Trust.

    A massive thank you to those generous pupils who kindly donated. Donation amounts ranged from just a single VIVO to 600 VIVOs from one child - every single one of these will go to help those less fortunate.

  • North Lindsey College Engineering Challenge

    The Annual North Lindsey Engineering Challenge did not disappoint.  Six Year 9 students from Melior were selected to represent the Academy and what a brilliant job they did against 12 other local Secondary Schools. 

    The team made up of 3 boys and 3 girls (Corey Clapton, Matthew Falshaw, Harvey Gough, Rebecca Dunn, Meghan Lister and Molly Craig) were led by a Team Captain.
