Arrangements for the first day of term, 3rd September 2014 - Current students only
Please can you ensure that you child arrives for school at 9.30am on Wednesday 3rd September. This will enable the new year 7 students to arrive before other children and settle in.
On arrival, your child should report to their Form Tutor to receive their new timetable, journals etc.
Junior Leadership Team interviews were held at the academy this morning. The following students were successful and we would like to congratulate them: Emily Barker - Head Girl, Daniel Fussey - Head Boy, Karolina Jagielka - Deputy Head Girl, Ryan Boult - Deputy Head Boy, Ross Boulton, Anesu Marecha, Laura Pezzuto and Charlotte Scott - House Captains. All candidates interviewed exceptionally well.
Melior are very proud to announce that Kieren Laister (Year 10) has been awarded "Learner of the Year" for Construction at North Lindsey College. He received a certificate and a trophy and was also mentioned in the Awards Ceremony Programme.
We are very proud of Kieren's achievement and wanted to say Well Done!
It is with great pleasure that we announce our first awards evening for the production company here at Melior Community Academy. Yesterday, the company members were handed an official invitation (to include their families too). The event will take place on Thursday 17th July at 7pm.
We hope that the company members and their families will be able to attend and celebrate with us.

Uniform is now available to purchase from Shah's on West Street Scunthorpe, however, the academy currently have some remaining stock of Ties and Blazers. Blazers from the academy are available in sizes 34" upwards only. Ties are £4 and Blazers are £25 - £30 dependant on size.
On Thursday 10th July members of the NUT and GMB have been called to take strike action.This will not have an impact on the academy and we WILL BE OPEN AS NORMAL.

- Film Studies Paper 1: Wednesday 18th June 2014 at 9.00am

Exam preparation sessions have been scheduled for:
- Monday 16th June 2014 at 9.00am
- Tuesday 17th June 2014 at 9.00am
- Thursday 19th June 2014 at 9.00am
- Friday 20th June 2014 at 9.00am
- Monday 23rd June 2014 at 9.00am
Students are NOT expected to wear uniform for the exam preparation sessions. The sessions will be held in the usual room.
Year 10's Cultural Studies current hot topic of conversation and unit of study is upon 'Human Rights', where one dedicated individual, Miss Emily Barker, has truly embraced her homework objective and inspired her peers with her original composition of a song that questions and highlights the needs for Human Rights.
'Let Me Be Your Star'
Melior students will perform their production of 'Let Me Be Your Star' on three evenings and one afternoon as below. A little something for everyone to enjoy, the productions will showcase the talent of Melior Students.

- Saturday 5th July 2014 - 2.30pm & 7.30pm

Students volunteered to take part in the Tata Kids of Steel of Triathlon event which took place at the PODs on Thursday 22nd May. The students competed in a 50m Swim, 1000m Bike Ride and a 500m Run.
We would like to congratulate all students who participated in this event.
The Prom will be held at a surprise venue on Friday 4th July. Bookings will be taken from Monday 12th May until Friday 13th June. No bookings will be taken after this date. The price per ticket is £25. Students can also exchange VIVO points for Prom tickets – the amount of vivo points and their cumulative value can be obtained from Mrs Rotheram on Reception.
